The P380 is a great tool for strapping round and irregular objects. This is the first pneumatic tool in the market that uses the sealless option for strapping round objects. It is a light weight tool with a high tension force of 2000N. This tool is very reliable and very efficient. This is also a pneumatic combination tool and thereby very cost effective as it does all the three jobs of tensioning, sealing and cutting.
Though the P380 is a pneumatic powered tool, it out performs separate tensioners and sealers. This tool uses the friction weld sealing and it has a great joint efficiency. The tool comes with a suspension bracket and the tool can be counter balanced either vertically or horizontally depending on the application it is being used for.
There has been a few changes to the P380 when compared to the previous strapping tools. In this tool, the feed wheel and the welder have been separated and the feed wheel has been moved behind the welder. Due to this change, the foot under the strapping looks much smaller. A smaller foot is easier to pull out from under the tight strapping.
Usually other strapping tools have a base under the feed wheel that swings away from the strapping. This is not possible while strapping round applications and with this tool, the P380 solves that problem. Presently the P380 is considered the standard tool for packing pipes, bars and other round packages.
The tension can be adjusted and it can accommodate any application size. The seal is also strong and secure. However, many industries are still not comfortable with the friction weld sealing as they do not consider it as strong as metal seals. But this kind of sealing has proved timed and again that it is the best alternative to metal seals which are also expensive. Using the friction weld seals is a very cost effective option.
An advantage to this pneumatic tool is that the risk of injury is very less. It does not leave marks or scratches on the surfaces of the packages. As it applies a strong and clear seal it is a very dependable throughout the transit period. Pneumatic tools are quickly being replaced by battery operated tools. The main reason is the air lines that run around the floor hindering the work of operators.
