The A452 is a pneumatic push type tensioner with a high strap tension force of 1,910 pounds. It has a freewheeling system and due to this at the completion of the tensioning cycle there is no tension lost. It is a lightweight tool that can be used for mobile and stationary applications.

While there are a few advantages to the A452, there are a few disadvantages too. Many industries find that a stand-alone tensioner does not save time as a separate sealer and a cutter has to be used after each operation.   For smaller and lighter operations, a pneumatic sealer is not necessary and a manual seal can be used to do the job. In order to use the sealer by the Fromm family, the industry can choose the

A461 as it will suit strapping .75″- 1.25″ wide by .025″ to .044″ thick and is complimentary to the A452 tensioner tool. Another manual sealer, A412 is also made by Fromm and suits the same strapping qualities.

As the A452 tool has an angled duckbill nose, the tool requires push, or closed seals. The seals are threaded onto the strap and the tool physically pushes the seal along the straps, which applies the tension force. Though the A452 is a quick tool because of its air qualities, it still requires push seals. So the strapping prep time is a little longer than for other tools. This is one of the major reasons why many industries are switching over to battery-operated tools, wherein the airlines are eliminated and the operators go about their job easily. With this tool there are two airlines dragging and it hinders the operators.

The Grip Pack 114 Tensioner and Grip Pack 114 Sealer are battery operated but provide the same seal efficiency. In order to do away with standalone tools, the industries have begun switching over to combination tools that do all the three jobs of strapping, sealing and cutting at the touch of a button.

Fromm tools are very popular and widely used and Allstrap deals with spare parts and repair of these tools too. For more information contact Allstrap.
